Single Ended Integrated Amplifier
The Symbiosis Se is an integrated no compromise dual mono hybrid amplifier. With reference point integrated amplifier, there is no need for interconnect cable between pre and power section – one of the positive aspect from integrated amplifier as a single unit.
On the signal path there is only one transistor (output stage) and one tube (input stage). Symbiosis Se operates in single ended, zero feedback, pure class A manner. Power output is 100W into 4 ohms or 8 ohms equally, because of nature from single ended operation (there is a switch on the rear panel to control bias of output stage – between 4 ohms and 8 ohms). In fact there is two totally independent amplifier in the same unit – first with lower voltage and higher current power supply – for the 4 ohms speakers and second with higher voltage and lower current power supply - for the 8 ohms speakers! In the position on 4 ohms load there is a possibility to drive even under 1 ohms of loudspeaker impedance, although recommendation for the best result is to have medium to flat loudspeakers impedance curve! The best result amplifier reach with speaker from 2 ohms to 16 ohms of impedance.
Driver (input) stage contains special two triodes in the same bulb capable to act as low distortion voltage and current amplification devices.
Output stage form single transistor, high performance FET – industrial grade last generation device capable to give peak current of over 140A (amperes). It is a truly single ended design without parallel connection of many transistors.
Damping factor (technical aspect of good control for the loudspeakers drivers) is excellent – over 200 reference to 8 ohms load, yet zero feedback!
To avoid unnecessary heat from pure class A operation, Symbiosis Se use automatic adaptive bias - mean if the listening level is not so high then dissipation drop due to lower consumption of power.
Power supply section also speak for itself. Main transformer (weight over 11kg) is designed for over the double of power (1.000VA) that Se consume with silent operation. Second toroidal type transformer supply separate digital control circuits. There is separate voltage regulators also in zero feedback manner for all amplifier stages including the output one. On such a way sound quality is totally independent from line voltage instability. Also there is over 100.000uF of capacity for the output stage together with mention stabilization. Soft start additionally improving reliability of entire amplifier by avoiding voltage stress during turn-on procedure.
Tubes (input drivers) are by N.O.S. (new old stock) grade and have high reliability.
Symbiosis Se is equipped with multi function remote control unit made from solid block of aluminum.
Front panel also made from solid block of aluminum. Blue light DOT – MATRIX 12 segment display, indicate all amplifier function.
Attenuation is based on relay (with gold plated contacts) network that is computer controlled – there is 100 position of attenuation and always is only one (single) high quality resistor on signal path.
Quality of electronic material that is used inside Symbiosis Se is impressive - 0.1% Vishay resistors, electrolytic capacitors for 105C of working temperature, last generation of industrial grade IXYS semiconductors, WBT connectors, pure silver input wiring, special designed power transformer, N.O.S. tubes, high reliability relay with gold plated contacts…
Amplifier works properly at all world wide AC line voltage from 100 – 250 VAC, 50-60Hz (different transformers are used).
